NSC Staffing has an immediate opening for a Shipping Helper in Dallas, Texas!!

Shift: 1st shift, schedule 7:30a - 4:30p, Monday - Friday
Pay: $20/hour

Steel toe boots and jeans required
Shipping Helper - Steel Industry
Job Summary

The Shipping Helper supports daily shipping and material handling operations in a steel manufacturing/processing environment. This role is responsible for safely moving, staging, loading, and preparing steel products for shipment while maintaining strict safety and quality standards. Candidates must have prior experience working in a steel industry setting and be proficient with industrial material handling equipment.
Key Responsibilities

• Assist with shipping and receiving of steel materials, including beams, coils, plates, and fabricated products
• Operate sit-down forklifts to move, load, and stage steel materials
• Safely operate overhead cranes to lift and position steel products
• Load and unload trucks while ensuring proper securing and documentation of materials
• Verify material counts, dimensions, and shipping paperwork
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and steel-handling best practices
• Communicate effectively with shipping, warehouse, and production teams

• Previous experience working in a steel industry environment (required)
• Proven experience operating sit-down forklifts
• Proven experience operating overhead cranes
• Strong understanding of steel material handling and safety procedures
• Ability to read work orders, shipping documents, and basic measurements
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in an industrial environment for extended periods
• Comfortable working around heavy machinery, noise, and steel materials

• Forklift and Overhead Crane (required)
• Prior shipping or warehouse experience in steel processing or manufacturing (required)

• Industrial steel facility
• PPE required (hard hat, steel-toe boots, gloves, eye protection)
