Job Description Job Description We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painting Estimator with proven experience in commercial and/or residential painting projects. The Painting Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates, analyzing project specifications, and supporting project execution from bid through completion. This role requires strong technical knowledge, analytical skills, and effective communication with clients, vendors, and internal teams.Key ResponsibilitiesReview plans, specifications, drawings, and bid documents to determine project requirementsPerform quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted workPrepare accurate and timely cost estimates, bids, and proposalsAnalyze labor productivity, material usage, and job costs to ensure competitive pricingSolicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricingIdentify project risks, scope gaps, and value-engineering opportunitiesCollaborate with project managers, superintendents, and sales teams during preconstruction and post-award phasesAttend pre-bid meetings, site walks, and client meetings as requiredMaintain organized estimating files and historical cost dataAssist with change order pricing and budget revisions during constructionStay current on industry pricing trends, materials, and labor ratesRequired QualificationsMinimum 3–5 years of experience as a painting estimator or related estimating roleStrong knowledge of commercial and/or residential painting processes and materialsProficiency in estimating software (e.g., Excel, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Stack , or similar)Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specificationsStrong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracyAbility to manage multiple bids and meet deadlinesPreferred QualificationsExperience with public works, commercial, or large-scale painting projectsFamiliarity with coating systems, surface preparation standards, and paint specificationsKnowledge of local labor rates and building codesPrior experience working with project management teams post-awardCompany Description Established award winning commercial and multifamily drywall, painting, and coatings company with a proven successful track record in our industry since January, 2013.
