Psychiatrist/Principal Investigator

  2026-05-04     BioTalent     Dallas,TX
Description:

A leading clinical research site network is seeking a Psychiatrist to serve as Principal Investigator (PI) at its Dallas research site. Candidates with experience in both psychiatry and Alzheimer's disease are especially encouraged to apply. Prior clinical research experience is helpful, but not required.

This role is an especially strong opportunity for a more junior physician or a candidate looking to get their foot in the door in clinical research, while still stepping into a meaningful leadership position at the site. It offers the chance to build hands-on research experience in a supportive, collaborative environment while working closely with experienced clinical operations and site teams.

This position calls for an engaged, collaborative physician who is present on site, responsive to operational needs, and committed to maintaining high standards of scientific rigor and participant-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychiatric and neurological evaluations, physical exams, and safety assessments.
  • Confirm participant eligibility and support randomization decisions.
  • Review laboratory results, ECGs, and other safety data, and provide appropriate medical oversight.
  • Perform study rating scales after completing required certifications.
  • Ensure accurate, high-quality documentation in compliance with ICH-GCP and FDA expectations.
  • Serve as the primary clinical contact for sponsors and CROs.
  • Collaborate closely with clinical operations to support recruitment, screening, and enrollment.
  • Oversee study conduct to ensure adherence to protocol, regulatory requirements, and participant safety standards.

What Success Looks Like

  • Visible, accessible leadership that supports the clinical team in real time.
  • Strong ownership of study protocols and the ability to guide and train staff effectively.
  • Proactive collaboration with clinical operations to ensure smooth study execution.
  • Consistent focus on participant safety, high-quality data, and regulatory compliance.
  • Timely and effective communication with sponsors, CROs, and internal teams.

Why Consider This Opportunity

  • Excellent opportunity for a psychiatrist looking to transition into clinical research or build research experience in a site-based setting.
  • Strong fit for a more junior candidate seeking hands-on exposure and a pathway into the clinical research industry.
  • Join a collaborative, mission-driven team focused on advancing innovative treatments.
  • Play a direct role in supporting high-quality research in psychiatry and neurology.
