Job Summary

As a Customer Service Clerk, you will maintain store conditions to meet company standards, engage with customers, bag and transport groceries, and help locate products while ensuring a safe and sanitary shopping environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Bag groceries efficiently, keeping similar items together, preventing food cross-contamination, and ensuring customers receive all items purchased.
• Collect shopping carts and store them properly; keep the parking lot free of trash and report any incidents or concerns to management.
• Ensure front-end racks and drink coolers are stocked, clean, and well-presented.
• Actively promote product sales through engaging with customers.
• Handle objects carefully to prevent damage to products and property.
• Follow company guidelines for cleaning breakrooms/restrooms and maintaining store organization.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with groceries.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment by adhering to company safety procedures and policies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Exhibit courteous behavior towards customers at all times.
• Effectively communicate with customers and team members both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Stay alert to potential hazards and address them or report them promptly.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

• This position primarily involves on-the-job training.
• Minimum age requirement is 16 years old.
• Individuals must be 21 or older to drive for company business per company policy.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception, or the ability to focus.
• Frequently required to stand or walk.
• Consistently required to talk and hear.
• Regularly required to use hands for reaching, touching, or handling.
• Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, or maneuver objects up to 40 lbs.
• Occasionally lift, push, pull, or maneuver objects up to 75 lbs.
• Regular attendance at work is mandatory.

Work Environment

• This position is mainly performed in a retail store setting.
• May frequently be exposed to outside temperatures and weather conditions.
• Occasionally exposed to wet, slippery conditions.
• May encounter cleaning agents in the work environment.
• Work involves a quiet to moderate noise level.
