Under the supervision of the Parks Supervisor or designee, the duties to be performed include, but not limited to, the following essential job functions:
Mows, edges, trims hedges and prunes damaged limbs and trees;
weeds all shrubs, planting beds and play areas;
picks up trash and scattered debris prior to mowing;
inspects park facilities for damage, such as picnic tables, grills, benches and play equipment;
Valid Texas Drivers License, Class B CDL preferred
Six (6) months to one (1) year prior experience maintaining park facilities and grounds preferred.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to read and understand work orders and equipment manuals
Ability to measure and mix chemicals
Skill in the operation of hand tools and power equipment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Hand/grip strength
Arms & hands dexterity
Crouching/stooping
Twisting upper body
Climbing, reaching and pulling overhead
Pushing, pulling and twisting in operation of parks maintenance equipment up to 100 lbs.
operating riding lawn mower, hand and foot controls
Employee must work in seasonal temperatures and conditions year around
Employee may be exposed to potentially hazardous mechanical, chemical, and electrical hazards while performing job functions and while repairing vehicles and equipment
Operating grounds-keeping equipment
Seeing objects/persons at a distance
Hearing difference among bells, buzzers, beeps, horns. etc.
Special Requirements
Ability to work outside in all temperature extremes. Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. in a safe manner. May be required to respond to after hours emergencies.
