Career Opportunity:

The Production Planner/Scheduler is responsible for creating production schedules for manufacturing that safely and efficiently maximize plant production and minimizes cost to produce a quality product within specifications to customers. Their goal is to employ adequate service levels and product available to customers while being the liaison to the Customer Support, Supply & Operations Planning processes.u202F

How you will impact Smurfit WestRock:

  • Schedule production across multiple shifts to include:

  • Establish daily production plan(s)u202F

  • Track orders and production information, adjust as necessaryu202F

  • Maintain superior customer satisfaction throughon-timeif full deliveryu202F

  • Daily coordination with production, customer service, graphics, maintenance, and shippingu202F

  • Responsible for ensuring maximumutilizationand efficiency of all assets, including:u202F

  • Maintainmaximumpossible total product availabilityu202F

  • Maintain flexibility to makeoptimumuse of assetsu202F

  • Help control business cost through schedule/mix management

  • minimize freight costs through disciplined schedule managementu202F

  • minimize paper waste and paper substitutions

  • minimize downtime, change orders, andmanpower

  • Optimize the network through proactive ordermanagementflexing between locations and assets resulting in increased throughput, decreased cost to serve and maximum service

  • Create andmaintainreports for above responsibilities ensuring alignment to goals

  • Generate machine capacity plans as part of the Demand & Supply PlanningProcessAnalyzemachine run metrics to ensure availability is consistent with demandu202F

  • Manage and update the speed and availability data by machine that drive the supply demand model in support of the IBP processu202F

  • Report capacity allocation by account for those where capacity is reserved

  • Collaborate with all functional business units to ensure alignment of strategic initiativesu202F

  • In sold out cycles, work w/ CustomerSupportand Inventory management to maximize sales order/replenishment and execute customer priorities.u202F

  • Inunder soldcycles, work with Customer Support, Demand, and Inventory management teams toidentifyopportunities to optimallyutilizeavailable capacity.u202F

  • Maintain standards, rules, exceptions, and customer tolerancesu202F

  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager that fall within the scope and level of roleu202F

What you need to succeed:

  • Bacheloru2019s degreeu202FPreferred; High school diploma-Required

  • APICS Certification Preferredu202F

  • 1-5 yearsu2019 experience in a process manufacturing environment (scheduling preferred)u202F

  • Strong analytical skillsu202F

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectivelyu202F

  • Ability to plan and organizing workload
