In the estimator role, you will gather information to prepare cost estimates for company projects. You will analyze pertinent metrics to determine costs and benefits that support profitable business ventures. Success in this role will be demonstrated by the sustained accuracy of your reports that detail the costs and profitability.

Cost Estimator Requirements and Responsibilities:

  • College degree in Industrial Engineering/Accounting/Business or at least 3-5 years' experience.
  • Make estimates of new and proposed products and recommend cost efficiencies in new product layouts.
  • Communicate problems and propose solutions to senior/peer management.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook as well as SAP.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team.
  • Creative problem solver.
  • Positive attitude and action oriented.
  • Approximately 80 percent sit and 20 percent involve activities on the shop floor. Some projects may require additional time in the manufacturing area measuring and observing processes.
  • Need to acquire and maintain extensive knowledge of production processes.
  • Knowledge of Time study process.
  • Industrial Engineer background is a plus.
