EMPLOYMENT BEGINS: As soon as possible
PRIMARY PURPOSE:

  • Manages technology projects for the Technical Services Department to ensure tasks are completed efficiently, on time, and on budget. Coordinates with all Technical Services' supervisors and other department supervisors on project planning, implementation, tracking and documentation of short-term and long-term technical projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Valid Texas driver's license
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
  • Highly organized, detailed oriented and able to work within a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to communicate technical/complex information both verbally and in writing
  • Proficient in AutoDesk CAD software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Software such as Excel, Word, E-mail, etc.
  • Must have strong communication, leadership, and management skills, in addition to excellent customer service
  • Must have working knowledge of a wide range of technical equipment to ensure devices are installed according to district specifications
EXPERIENCE:
  • Has past planning or project management experience, (PMP) Project Management Professional Certification preferred
  • Experience in managing large complex projects and teams; including researching, evaluating, and implementing new technologies
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Coordinate with all Technical Services' supervisors and other department supervisors on technology related projects
  • Responsible for keeping the department director, all project team members and other campus/facility participants informed on project status
  • Collaborates with and supports the district's architects, consulting engineers and general contractors to ensure that all technology aspects of new construction projects meet the district's needs
  • Quality control during construction/remodeling projects
  • Responsible for tower management duties which include inspection and maintenance of tower elevators, upkeep of the fuel monitoring system, fuel tank system inspections and tower obstruction lighting maintenance and monitoring
  • Meets with building managers and campus personnel to ascertain technology needs before and after project to ensure client satisfaction
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Project management - manages others during various projects
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands:
  • Long and varied hours. Work performed on multiple projects concurrently, under pressure of rigid deadlines and time limitations, at night, on weekends, and on holidays
Physical demands/environmental factors:
  • Long hours of sitting and working at a computer
  • Visits to jobsites reviewing work which occasionally requires the use of ladders, and powered lifts. Also, reviewing work in confined spaces such as crawl spaces under the buildings
  • Reaching with hands and arms frequently repeating the same hand, arm, or finger motion
