Job Summary

Our client is looking for a Credentialing Coordinator responsible for facilitating, coordinating, and implementing all credentialing functions for medical staff and advanced practice professionals. The role involves managing processes such as managed care credentialing applications, re-credentialing with health plans, and ensuring all credentials are up-to-date.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate, coordinate, prepare, monitor, maintain, and implement credentialing functions for medical staff and advanced practice professionals.
  • Ensure all expirables are reviewed, obtained, maintained, and managed by tracking and documenting necessary licensures, certifications, specialty certification, and malpractice insurance information prior to expiration dates.
  • Originate or collect and maintain all required documentation and records in managed care medical staff credentialing software databases.
  • Assist with delegation rosters, follow-ups, and confirmation with Payors.
  • Maintain reporting and communication with Hospital leadership regarding credentialing status of hospital, physician staff, and advanced practice professionals.
  • Monitor payer websites to ensure accuracy and address any deficiencies, interacting when necessary with payers for corrections.
  • Develop, maintain, and apply working knowledge of federal/state laws and regulations, accreditation standards, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Interact with the office of General Counsel on credentialing matters.
  • Provide professional support to management staff and participate in meetings as requested.
  • Assist with miscellaneous duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Required
  • 3-5 Years of Medical Staff or Managed Care Credentialing experience in a hospital, clinic, or health plan setting is preferred.
  • Experience with Medicare/Medicaid and Commercial Payors.
  • Proficient in computer applications such as Windows, Microsoft Office, Internet browsers, and medical staff/credentialing software databases.
  • Knowledge of standards in managed care credentialing practices, health plan credentialing requirements, and data management.
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred
  • Certification through the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) as a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Staff Management (CPMSM) is preferred.

Experience
  • 3-5 Years of Medical Staff or Managed Care Credentialing experience required.

Additional Requirements
  • Hybrid Schedule
  • Monday - Thursday 7am - 4:30pm
  • Friday 8am - 12pm
