The Role
The Foundation Room Door Host/Security is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of all staff, artists, vendors, and guests while creating a positive and uplifting experience for diverse groups of individuals.
Qualifications
Required
- State or County Licensee or Certification Requirement
- Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or equivalent
- Flexible schedule and ability to work late hours
- At least 3 years of experience interacting with people in a positive environment
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
- Ability to lift or move up to 25 lbs. using proper lifting techniques
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Working knowledge of high?end restaurant operations, seating procedures, guest relations, and problem solving
- Skill in diplomacy, handling multiple tasks, verbal skills, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to diffuse potentially volatile situations with tact and diplomacy
- Tolerance of all cultures, music, and art forms
Preferred
- Bi?lingual
- Cash handling experience
- Experience recognizing valid IDs
- Experience in a live music environment
- Self?defense training
- Experience using metal detection equipment
Physical Demands / Working Environment
- Fast?paced, often loud and stressful environment
- Extended periods of prolonged standing and working on feet indoors and outdoors
- Ability to lift or move up to 25 lbs. using proper lifting techniques
What Youll Do
- Provide recognition to Foundation Members, Live Nation Executives, and VIPs
- Serve as a resource for all members regarding their experience in both the Foundation Room and House of Blues
- Assist with timing of reservations and communicate effectively with other positions
- Maintain contact with manager, chef, bartender, and server regarding member arrivals
- Observe lounge area and podium to uphold the ambiance of the room
- Adapt social style to current audience and maintain exemplary grooming standards
- Anticipate guests needs and ensure safety by proactive interaction and hazard removal
- Prevent and resolve altercations among guests
- Lead guests and employees in emergency evacuation procedures and provide assistance
- Maintain control by circulating throughout the shift
- Check identification of guests under 30 who are drinking inside the venue
- Prevent weapons or harmful items by inspecting guests with metal detector or pat?down search
- Enforce house policy regarding photos, videos, and recording devices
- Safeguard against theft and property damage
- Communicate clearly using radios, hand signals, and flashlights; remain in contact throughout the shift
- Set up the area before opening (stanchions, table configuration, etc.)
- Keep interior and exterior of the venue clear and safe, cleaning spills and removing obstacles
- Attend pre?shift meeting conducted by manager on duty prior to start of each shift
