AIRPORT COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST
Location: Dallas, TX | Onsite

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
• Pay: $25/hour
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Employment Type: Full-time, W2

ROLE IMPACT
As part of the Aviation Public Safety Group, the Airport Communications Specialist (ACS) ensures the smooth coordination and communication between all Dallas Love Field (DAL) stakeholders. This role supports operational safety, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction by managing communications, documentation, and emergency notifications to maintain efficient airport operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Serve as the primary liaison between the airport and stakeholders including tenants, customers, and internal departments.
• Manage incoming calls, inquiries, and requests while providing accurate information on airport services, operations, and community concerns.
• Log and document all incidents, events, and communications to ensure traceability and compliance with safety standards.
• Operate communications systems to send alerts, coordinate notifications, and maintain real-time situational awareness.
• Generate and submit accurate work orders and reports for operational follow-up.
• Support emergency response operations by relaying information to proper authorities, maintaining calm, and documenting incidents accurately.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two (2) years of experience in airport operations, emergency management, dispatch, communication centers, tactical operations, or airline operations.
• Valid and current Driver's License.
• Must pass a criminal background check and obtain federally mandated security clearances.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook.

EQUIVALENCIES
• A Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Emergency Management, or Communications may substitute for experience requirements.

PREFERRED SKILLS
• Trade certifications such as ACE, CM (AAAE), or USAP (ACI).
• Certifications from APCO, NENA, IAED, or TCOLE for telecommunications officers.
• Completion of NIMS IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, and IS-800 courses.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; bilingual (Spanish or other languages) preferred.

EQUIPMENT & WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Frequent use of telecommunication devices, PA systems, and computer-based management systems.
• Work performed in a secure, closed-room environment with extended sitting or standing.
• Must be available for overtime or varied shifts as operationally required.
