Prep Operator

Compensation: $15.00 - $16.00 / hour

Description

The Raw/Prep Operator will be responsible for one of several functions each day. Vegetable Prep, Protein Prep or Recipe Prep. Critical to the performance of this job is proper food handling, following proper GMPs and SOPs, following proper sanitation procedures and operating in a safe and sanitary way.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Check the production schedule for number of mixes or changes.
• Shred vegetables according to the recipe.
• Grind protein according to the recipe.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for your position including the proper handling of knives and proper disposal of cardboard boxes and pallets.
• Use Proper Tools to load vegetables and protein into cutting, slicing and mixing machines.
• Weigh all ingredients as required by recipes.
• Celery and seasoning added to the vegetable mix by recipe requirements.
• Complete raw temperature log as instructed by recipes.
• Watch the buggy at the end, to ensure contents are correct and the weight needed for recipe.
• Push completed buggies to the mixer.
• Record Mixing Logs daily.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area during the shift.
• Other duties consist of placing tortilla bags on the lines for rolling. Make sure the stacks are completely full when replenishing.
• Maintain effective communication with other Roll Models, supervisors and managers.
• Report any problem with food safety, food quality or equipment immediately to supervisors.
• Cross train in all prep/raw areas in order to fill in other assignments when needed.
• Daily attendance is required as per the production work schedule.

• Ability to work in a team environment.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• One to two years' food manufacturing experience preferred.
• Willingness to learn English as a second language.
• Familiarity with packaging machinery and equipment is a plus.
• English language is preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand, walk, kneel and bend for virtually entire shift.
• Occasionally required to balance or climb.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
• Frequent exposure to production environments with moderate noise, cold/hot temperatures, and wet or humid conditions.
