We have a challenging and exciting opportunity for an Associate Quality Manager who is energetic, can multi-task and problem solve, and has the drive and motivation to learn and grow in a fast-paced setting in an expanding business.

Primary Purpose:

The Associate Quality Manager is responsible for driving continuous improvement across production, engineering, purchasing, and supplier operations. This role ensures that all products meet engineering specifications and quality standards. The Associate Quality Manager will lead quality assurance initiatives, manage a team of Quality Auditors, and oversee key quality functions, including supplier quality, field returns, nonconformance reporting, and the quality quarantine area. The role is also responsible for maintaining compliance with FNA Group's quality systems and processes.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of Quality Auditors to ensure consistent execution of quality processes.
  • Oversee daily quality operations, including auditing activities, inspection programs (incoming and outgoing), and product compliance.
  • Develop and maintain PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) inspection protocols.
  • Initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and coordinate follow-ups with suppliers and the supply chain team.
  • Manage the quality quarantine area, handling MRB (Material Review Board) items, internal damages, RMAs, and product repairs.
  • Analyze nonconforming products on the production line and oversee appropriate corrective actions.
  • Recruit, train, and onboard QA team members in alignment with organizational needs.
  • Create and review quality documentation, including control plans, SOPs, and work instructions.
  • Administer calibration standards and ensure measurement tools meet required specifications.
  • Provide regular reporting on quality performance (daily, weekly, monthly) to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with production, operations, engineering, and customer service teams to resolve quality concerns.
  • Conduct training for QA personnel on quality procedures, equipment usage, and best practices.
  • Ensure department staffing aligns with the approved QA organizational structure.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing to resolve product-related issues including design, material selection, tooling, and process improvements.

Required Skills / Abilities:

Required:

  • Strong ability to implement and sustain quality initiatives on the production floor.
  • Proficiency in problem-solving, data collection, and analytical thinking.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to train others.
  • Experience using Six Sigma tools.
  • Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and ISO quality frameworks.
  • Skilled in generating quality reports and performance summaries.

Preferred:

  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or Quality Certification (e.g., Quality Engineer) preferred.

Supervisor / Manager Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervision of the Quality Assurance Technician team.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Extensive walking, standing, and/or climbing; heavy lifting and carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Work outside and inside; work around machinery with moving parts; work around moving objects or vehicles; exposure to dampness and humidity; exposure to slippery and uneven surfaces.

Work Hours:

Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm with occasional extended hours as required to complete assignments.
