Position Details:

Title: High Risk Clinical Dietitian (Level I & II)

Location: Corpus Christi, TX

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Travel: Occasional travel to specialty clinics in Laredo, McAllen, Brownsville, and Victoria as needed

Experienced dietitians and new graduates are encouraged to apply! Upcoming or recent graduates may interview for our roles prior to completing and passing their Registered Dietitian certification exam.


The High Risk Clinical Dietitian focuses on direct patient care for infants and children aged 0 to 3 years. You will work in an outpatient setting, providing evidence-based medical nutrition therapy to former NICU graduates and other high-risk patients. Your role will involve conducting thorough nutritional assessments, formulating care plans, and educating patients, families, and healthcare teams on nutritional interventions.


Additional Responsibilities Based on Level:

  • Level I Dietitians focus on developing foundational skills, gaining clinical experience, and contributing to patient care under general supervision
  • Level II Dietitians demonstrate a higher level of autonomy, routinely handle complex cases, serve as a resource across the system, contribute to quality initiatives, and may precept interns or junior team members


Qualifications:

Preferred for Both Levels:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish highly preferred.


Required Qualifications (Both Levels):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in nutrition or related field from an ACEND-accredited program
  • Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential through CDR
  • Texas state licensure (or within 90 days of hire)
  • Food Safety and BLS certifications (or within 90 days of hire)
  • Valid driver's license


Level I Requirements:

  • Completion of ACEND-accredited Dietetic Internship
  • New grads welcome (pediatric experience preferred but not required)
  • Strong desire to grow in pediatric nutrition and counseling


Level II Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years (6,240 hours) of direct clinical nutrition care (pediatric experience strongly preferred)
  • Master's degree or specialty certification (e.g., CSP, CSPCC, RDN-AP) preferred but not required
  • Experience in specialized pediatric programs (e.g., NICU, oncology, feeding disorders)
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentorship, and quality improvement involvement
