Fire Protection Engineer

Location: Dallas, Texas

As part of the Buildings Group for Garver, this Fire Protection Engineer will be responsible for developing fire protection designs to support various Buildings Business Line projects. Responsibilities include leading the planning, design, and commissioning of:

• Building fire protection systems
• Building fire suppression systems
• Building fire alarm systems

This role also involves coordination with support disciplines and regional offices, assisting project managers, following quality assurance and control plans, and periodic travel to project sites.

Abilities and Attributes Needed:

• Knowledge of fire protection, suppression, and alarm principles
• Mentoring and training technical staff
• Interfacing with clients on project design, delivery, and construction
• Managing project budgets and schedules
• Overseeing fire protection design throughout project phases
• Utilizing BIM software for drawings
• Using calculation tools for design calculations
• Managing multiple assignments concurrently
• Time management and quality assurance
• Commitment to continuing education

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university
• Licensed Professional Engineer with Fire Protection certification
• 5-10 years of experience in building design and construction
• Strong knowledge of fire protection engineering principles
• Experience overseeing fire protection designs
• Strong communication skills
• Experience with Autodesk Revit
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with AIA MasterSpec
• Knowledge of Federal Agencies design criteria
