Job Overview:

Our program is a ministry out of Oaks Church in Red Oak, TX. We work in partnership with the Life School ISD. Teachers in our program lead and supervise a group 10-20 students through a state-regulated schedule which includes snack, devotion or chapel, free time, active play, and homework time. Teachers help our campus run an efficient program by dispensing snack, addressing emergencies, keeping up with supplies, and sanitizing high touch areas. Our mission is centered around providing a fun and safe environment to help students grow spiritually, develop leadership skills, and continue their learning experience. Responsibilities + Duties:

  • Ensure that students are provided a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
  • Provide excellent supervision of students in accordance with state regulations.
  • Adhere to program schedule according to state regulations.
  • Execute devotionals and chapels with students in a fun and effective manner.
  • Oversee and implement special classroom events.
  • Verify daily students' attendance.
  • Implement and maintain classroom discipline procedures using positive guidance techniques.
  • Observe, record, and report to the supervisor any significant behavior of children or staff that does not line up with program standards, policies, or procedures.
  • Actively participate in program events.
  • Prepare any needed parent communication (i.e. tallies and positive referrals).
  • Implement appropriate emergency procedures.
  • Administer CPR/First Aid when needed.
  • Ensure that children are using equipment in an appropriate manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality with all information regarding students, staff, projects, property, etc.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Maintain training clock-hours and CPR certification that is required by state minimum standards.
  • Informing campus Site Director when supplies are needed for replenishment or upcoming planned projects.
Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Highschool diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a state licensed childcare or church setting strongly recommended.
  • Have obtained or willing to obtain 15 hours of Early Childhood Education within the first 6 months of position.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is required.
  • Working knowledge of Texas State Minimum Standards as it pertains to the operation of the facility.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to repeatedly bend, stoop and run; must be able to lift and carry a child if a situation presents itself.

Hours: 5:45 am - 7:30 am AND/OR 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm; 7am-6pm (Friday)
Part-time position 15-30 hours per week
